Kids proof breakfast
The younger healthy eating habits are taught, the greater the chance that these habits will remain. It is therefore very important to teach children to be aware of their dietary choices, but this, of course, is not always easy.
It is a process with many hurdles. Below are a few tips that can help you on your way.
1. Set a good example
Children adopt habits from their parents. So if you skip breakfast in the morning or make an unhealthy choice, it will be hard to force your child to eat differently. If they see you enjoying a healthy breakfast, they will be stimulated to try it.
2. Maintain a balance
The odd croissant on a Sunday morning is absolutely fine. It is important to teach children that everything is allowed, but only in the right measure.
3. Turn breakfast into a feast (occasionally)
You do not have to do this every day, but once in a while it is worthwhile to put in an extra effort. It is so much fun for children to have a healthy version of pancakes or waffles in the morning.
4. Make sure there is enough variety
Variety is also very important, especially for children. They are still bubbling with curiosity and it is up to you to stimulate them. Let the children choose their favourite piece of fruit and do something fun with it.
